Matt is a Partner in the Corporate and Commercial department, acting on a range of corporate, governance and development related matters, with a particular specialism in housing associations and family office work.

Recent Experience

• Advising on mergers between RPs (including transfers of engagement and amalgamations) including undertaking extensive due diligence and providing specialist regulatory, governance and vires advice.
• Advising RPs on their corporate restructuring, providing specific advice on regulatory implications and co-operative and community benefit societies law.
• Advising on the registration of For Profit RPs
• Advising on a range of vires issues associated with the activities of exempt charities, the operation of their businesses and the transfer of their assets, including  advising a G15 housing association on vires considerations and legal methodology relating to the implementation of rent caps to its shared ownership leases.
• Advising Optivo on the terms of a contractual and agency Agreement with Sage as part of a seminal £106 million pound partnership. For more information, please see this press release

• Advising Notting Hill Genesis on the largest regeneration scheme in the UK at Old Oak Common, delivered as a joint venture between Notting Hill Genesis and Queen’s Park Rangers football club.
