About Matt

Matt is a Partner in the Corporate and Commercial department, acting on a range of corporate, governance and regulatory related matters with a particular specialism in social housing. Matt acts for a wide range of clients including housing associations, social impact firms, institutional investors and charities.

Recent Experience

  • Advising on the registration of new RPs and related social housing regulatory and governance matters;
  • Advising on the corporate restructuring of RP groups including specific advice on company and community benefit society law, charity law and social housing regulation;
  • Advising on mergers between RPs (including transfers of engagement and amalgamations) including undertaking due diligence and providing specialist regulatory, governance and vires advice;
  • Advising on a range of vires issues associated with the activities of exempt charities, the operation of their businesses and the transfer of their assets;
  • Advising on property and asset management agreements with particular reference to the social housing regulatory framework.
