About Charlotte

Charlotte has over 15 years’ experience in property related disputes acting for developers, registered providers, building owners, asset managers and private clients.

She advises on the full range of contentious property issues with a particular expertise in issues relating to property development including vacant possession strategies, rights of light, party walls, restrictive covenants, access rights and other easements. She regularly advises on high value contractual development disputes including in relation to development, joint ventures, partnerships, overage and option agreements. Charlotte regularly advises on pre-acquisition risk assessments and strategies as well as in litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

Charlotte also advises on contentious landlord and tenant issues including issues arising from long residential leases, such as service charges and unauthorised alterations, and all aspects of commercial asset management including opposed and unopposed lease renewals, break options, rent reviews, breaches of leasehold covenants, tenant insolvency and applications for consent to assign and underlet.

Charlotte also advises on professional negligence claims arising from property related matters.

Recent Experience

  • Acting for developer on complex rectification claim relating to a poorly drafted option agreement;
  • Advising registered provider of social housing in respect of numerous issues arising out of its development partnership agreement with the local authority to facilitate a major regeneration;
  • Acting for Jersey based trust services company for an injunction keeping the defendants away from trust assets and for an order requiring them to account to the trust sums due to it under a management agreement;
  • Acting for residential developer in respect of dispute regarding the insolvency of the developer providing infrastructure to the site;
  • Advising house builder on vacant possession strategies regarding various development sites across London;
  • Acting for sales and marketing consultancy in respect of a claim against a local authority’s residential development company regarding breaches of the terms of a property sales and marketing agreement.
