About Rachel

Rachel is a commercial disputes lawyer with over 15 years’ experience across a diverse range of sectors.  Her work has included working for clients in financial services, retail and fashion, hospitality and leisure, food and drink and technology.

Most recently she spent several years working for central government, particularly in respect of claims following the Covid 19 pandemic.

She also has particular expertise in contentious intellectual property and confidential information, covering trade marks, design rights, copyright and passing off.

She has worked on claims in the High Court (including the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court), Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.

Recent experience

  • acting for the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care in its successful claim for £122 million against PPE Medpro.
  • acting for the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care in its defence of a number of substantial claims in respect of the rejection of lateral flow tests and related procurement claims.
  • acting for Soteria (formerly CIS General Insurance Limited) in its successful claim against IBM for the recovery of c. £100 million in wasted expenditure incurred on a failed IT transformation project.
  • acting for BP in its defence of a claim by EnQuest Heather for c. £24 million of further invoices issued in relation to alleged historic charges.
  • acting for Primark Stores Limited on various intellectual property matters including a claim of trade mark infringement by Vans Inc brought within the Shorter Trials Scheme.
  • acting for Associated British Foods in respect of its claim against Warburtons for passing off in relation to residual goodwill in the brand name Mighty White.
