Syeda is part of Winckworth Sherwood’s Lease Extension and Enfranchisement team.  She specialises in advising private clients and property investors on the acquisition, disposal and financing of residential properties. Syeda has extensive experience in dealing lease extensions in relation to residential properties, both those under the enfranchisement legislation and those granted on a voluntary basis outside of the same.

Recent Experience

• Acting for landlords (PLC’s and major property companies) and tenants in dealing with claims under the Leasehold Reform Housing and Urban Development Act 1993, both in terms of lease extensions and collective enfranchisement
• Acting for landlords and tenants in lease extensions granted outside of the legislation (voluntary lease extensions)
• Acting for high net worth individuals and property investors in the acquisition, disposal and financing of high value residential properties
• Advising landlords on a variety of licence applications from tenants including licences for alterations and licences to assign
