National law firm Winckworth Sherwood has expanded its commercial property team with two new partners, Jamie Barton and Richard Mulcock. Both join the firm from Knights Plc and will be primarily based in Winckworth Sherwood’s Oxford office, bolstering the firm’s expertise in the rapidly developing Thames Valley growth area.
Richard’s primary focus is on facilitating the acquisition of sites for the development of new leisure and retail facilities, while Jamie is an expert in a range of commercial real estate matters including acquisitions and disposals, development agreements, and portfolio management.
Richard and Jamie previously forged their reputation at BrookStreet des Roches LLP, before the firm was acquired by Knights earlier this year. The pair has helped to build up an impressive client base, acting nationally for retail and leisure industry clients including McDonald’s, Arcadia Group and charities including Oxfam.
The appointments will strengthen Winckworth Sherwood’s presence in the commercial property sector and increase its existing focus on the Oxford-Cambridge growth arc and beyond.
Jamie and Richard will continue to work closely with long-standing contacts. They will soon be joined by additional team members and will be actively recruiting to grow the firm’s Oxford-based real estate practice.
