Awaab’s Law: Legal implications for social housing builders and landlords

Awaab’s Law came into force on 27 October 2025. It is designed to protect tenants from serious health and safety hazards in their homes – named in memory of Awaab Ishak, who tragically died in 2020 due to prolonged exposure to mould in his social housing property.
