Zahraa is a Senior Associate in our Education team and provides specialist property support to schools, academies and dioceses on an advisory and transactional basis. She has experience on a wide range of property matters including acquisitions, disposals, leases, development and easements. In addition, Zahraa also assists clients in obtaining relevant consents from the Department for Education for such matters.

Zahraa provides support on academy conversions and transfers, dealing with complicated property arrangements and statutory transfers due to the diocese from the local authority.

Recent experience

• Acting for a Diocese and Academy Trust to urgently relocate a neighbouring school with RAAC in a vacant building at the Trust’s academy
• Advising on telecommunications leases, deeds of easement with gas operators, substation leases and wayleave agreements for electricity cables at school sites.
• Acting for a Diocese on the transfer of trusteeship and land portfolio from a charitable body.
• Advising on a pumping station project at a school site
• Acting for an Academy Trust on the sale of a vacant caretaker house for development purposes.
