Recent experience

  • Advising a registered provider on complex Equality Act and human rights claims based on alleged discrimination.
  • Successfully applying to strike out a counterclaim for disability discrimination where there were clearly no merits;
  • Successfully obtaining injunctions and possession orders on complex antisocial behaviour cases involving threats to life.
  • Working on a Court of Appeal test case about housing legislation  in Wales relating to fitness for human habitation.
  • Advising a registered provider on a complex breach of lease dispute by a superior landlord.
  • Successfully defending section 21 proceedings brought against a private client and obtaining significant settlement sums in a pre-action disrepair counterclaim.
  • Advising clients on dealing with complex antisocial behaviour and tenancy management cases involving vulnerable tenants.
