Kevin is a nationally acclaimed Partner specialising in special educational needs law and mental capacity law. He acts for parents, carers and young people across the whole of England and Wales to ensure children and young people secure the special educational provision/additional learning provision they are entitled to. Over two decades Kevin has assisted thousands of children and young people secure the placement and provision they need. His expertise and passion is specifically sought after by parents in relation to high value independent special school placements (day and residential), home based/EOTAS packages and where social care provision is also inadequate.
Having previously practised in Wales for a number of years, Kevin’s advice is often requested in regard to securing provision under the additional learning needs regime.
Kevin has also headed up a Court of Protection Department. This gives him unrivalled experience to advise on the intricacies of mental capacity law as it applies to young people with special educational needs.
Kevin is ranked in both leading legal directories, Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners. In 2024, Kevin’s contribution to children with special educational needs was recognised by the Law Society who awarded him a ‘Legal Hero’ award. He is also a contributor to ‘The Education Law Handbook’ (LexisNexis, 2021) and has provided expert commentary for the media including BBC Radio.
