  • Construction and engineering disputes. Prosecuting and defending high value and complex catastrophic defect, professional negligence and breach of contract claims on behalf of and against registered providers, building owners, developers, contractors, consultants and construction professionals.
  • Insurance coverage disputes. Prosecuting and defending high value and complex construction and engineering disputes brought against domestic and international insurers of professional liability, all risks, building warranty and other insurance policies.
  • Class Actions. Defending high value class action lawsuits brought by large numbers of leaseholders against registered providers and building owners.

Recent successes

Recent examples of Greg’s successes include the following:

  • Greg settled a high value multi million pound construction and engineering claim brought by a registered provider and owner of a large residential and commercial complex against an international developer and its supply chain arising out of extensive external wall and fire safety defects in a long running High Court claim. Despite the entrenched position adopted by each of the Defendants, Greg was able to force a settlement prior to trial equivalent to c. 95% of the cost and interest inclusive value of his client’s claim.
  • Greg settled a high value multi million pound construction and engineering and breach of contract claim brought by the owner of a large residential development against multiple domestic and international insurers in a long running High Court claim. Greg forced a settlement of the claim at a mediation, which amounted to a cost and interest inclusive recovery for his client of over 85% of their total claim value.
  • Greg defended a high value multi million pound class action lawsuit brought by a large group of leaseholders against their landlord and building owner in High Court litigation. Greg forced a settlement at mediation equivalent to less than one twentieth of the damages and costs claimed by the Defendants.
  • Greg settled a high value multi million pound and highly complex insurance coverage dispute brought by the owner of a large residential and commercial development against their building warranty insurers. Greg secured a high multi million pound settlement for his client.

Non Contentious

Greg regularly advises clients on a variety of insurance topics, including complex policy coverage issues. Greg also advises clients “behind the scenes” how to best protect their position in the event of a dispute, and how to attempt to resolve such matters sensibly and commercially, and without the need for formal legal action.
