Andrew has over 35 years’ experience in commercial property, including regeneration, mixed-use schemes, retail, residential, leisure and office developments. Andrew’s specialisation is in property development. Andrew’s clients include J Sainsbury plc, Horiba MIRA Limited, Yellow Brick Capital, Quinn Estates, Greenwich Hospital and the Williams Group.

Recent Experience

  • Advising Sainsbury’s in connection with their Head Office relocation to Charterhouse Street, in respect of numerous individual leases of office accommodation, as well as additional leases in relation to retail and R&D space.
  • Advising Sainsbury’s in connection with the regeneration and relocation of many of their substantial London food store sites in conjunction with the regeneration of those sites with a number of developers (including Ballymore and Land Securities).
  • Advising Southwark Charities in connection with the redevelopment of their prestigious Blackfriars Road Site (which they have owned for over 400 years) in connection with the complex development, leasing and leaseback arrangement with JTRE London, in the development of this site for a mixed-use, office and residential scheme with ground floor leisure space. The anticipated GDV of this site is in excess of £400 million.
  • Advising Quinn Estates in connection with their Promotion Agreements with numerous landowners in relation to the development of two significant sites in Maidstone and Sittingbourne, Kent.
  • Advising Horiba MIRA Limited in connection with their development (and ongoing pre-letting of MIRA Technology Park Limited in Hinckley, comprising circa 1.5 million square feet of transport R&D operators, in conjunction with their development partner Evans Randall LLP. Also advised Horiba MIRA Limited in connection with their JV arrangements with their development partner Evans Randall LLP, which is ongoing.
  • Advising Yellow Brick Capital in relation to their UK developments/funding.
  • Advising the Williams Group in connection with numerous site assembly initiatives in connection with their land holdings and forward sales of their land holdings and development opportunities in East Anglia.
  • Advising a number of landowner and development clients in connection with Promotion Agreements, Option Agreements and Conditional Sale Agreements in connection with significant residential and commercial schemes in London and the South East, invariably including numerous complex overage arrangements.
  • Advising Greenwich Hospital in connection with numerous promotion arrangements of their land holdings in Lincolnshire and Northumberland, as well as a JV/collaboration arrangement with Homes England in relation to a site in East Anglia.
