About Alison

Alison has worked in real estate at Winckworth Sherwood and elsewhere for many years, more recently developing a specialism in ecclesiastical property.  She undertakes a wide range of property transactions for church clients including Church of England Dioceses and parishes, church schools and charities.

As a former youth minister, foundation school governor and member of her local Parochial Church Council, Alison has a wide and practical understanding of the issues affecting her Church of England clients.

Recent experience

  • Drafting commercial leases and licences for charity clients (parishes, Diocesan Boards, independent charities)
  • Acting for Diocesan Boards of Finance in relation to the sale and purchase of residential properties
  • Advising schools, dioceses and multi academy trusts in relation to the land aspects of academy conversions and a range of related property matters
  • Acting for charitable bodies in connection with a new lease of part of a church
  • Advising on matters involving questions of reverter and also on section 554 orders in relation to the assets of closed schools
