Awaab’s Law: Further legal implications for social housing builders and landlords

Webinar | Tuesday 17th March 2026 | 1.00 - 2.00pm

Following our first webinar on the implications of Awaab’s Law this next event will focus on two areas already causing challenges for landlords, and ones that will be critical in the months ahead.

The webinar will cover:

  • GDPR & Data Protection
Awaab’s Law requires a more person-centred approach to hazard assessment, which brings new data-protection risks. We will explore how landlords can lawfully and consistently manage sensitive tenant information across housing, repairs and FM teams.
  • Repairs management & ‘Awaab’s Law’ claims
We will explore how landlords can triage effectively, distinguish genuine hazards from routine issues, and avoid both statutory breaches and unnecessary cost.

Awaab’s Law came into force on 27 October 2025. It is designed to protect tenants from serious health and safety hazards in their homes – named in memory of Awaab Ishak, who tragically died in 2020 due to prolonged exposure to mould in his social housing property.
