Thanks to our partnership with the Bankside Open Spaces Trust (BOST), we have been running monthly gardening sessions at the Winchester Palace Gardens. Our partnership with BOST pre-dates Covid but was only picked up again this February. A team of up to four Winckworth Sherwood staff meet on the first Tuesday of every month to work on the gardens which are nestled in the ruins of the Place of the Bishops of Winchester.
Each session varies, but they can involve planting, weeding and generally making the gardens more appealing for tourists, passers-by and WS staff on their way to Pret. Contributing to the green spaces around our local area is incredibly rewarding especially as we are the only corporate partner who takes care of the Winchester Gardens plot, so you can admire our handiwork each time you walk by.
Another bonus for our team is the BOST rep who runs the sessions – they are really knowledgeable about plants and always generous with tips if your plants at home are looking a little lacklustre and you need an expert opinion.
