We acted for a multi-academy trust with a religious character during a complex trade union dispute and threats of strike action.  The union asserted various alleged breaches by the Trust, including in relation to the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document and Directed Time, as well as unacceptable workload.  We supported our client by advising on the alleged breaches and the specific working time obligations within the education sector, managing the strategic approach to the dispute, drafting correspondence to union and affected employees, and negotiating creative solutions to achieve a constructive resolution. With out support our client successfully brought to an end the trade union dispute and avoiding strike action.
