Jennifer is part of the firm’s property litigation team, having qualified in 2018. She acts for a range of clients, from corporate home builders such as housing associations and private developers to individuals wishing to protect and preserve their property investments. She has acted in a wide range of property-related claims in the residential and commercial property sectors. She has experience in taking disputes to trial and in assisting clients to navigate often complex issues through to settlement, where desired.
Recent experience
- Enforcing lease term obligations for both landlord and tenant where either party is in default, such as maximising recovery of rent during the turbulent Covid-pandemic period
- Obtaining a successful outcome for a property investment company in a challenge to the recoverability of service charges worth over £1 million
- Advising a national homebuilder in the enforcement of an option agreement to bring a defaulting land owner to comply with their obligations
- Acting for private individuals with small property portfolios to procure vacant possession from tenants in complex circumstances
- Advising charities on management of their property with reference to their governing objects and regulation, such as breach of contract claims, repairing obligations, obtaining vacant possession from tenants and other occupiers, and lease renewals
- Acting for both landlords and tenants in relation to commercial lease renewals and advising on complex issues relating to business tenancies and the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954
