About Olivia

Olivia is a solicitor in the Education team and is part of the Schools HR team, focusing on employment law within the education sector. Her clients include maintained and VA schools, as well as SATs, MATs and independent schools.

Olivia has experience advising on a range of day-to-day HR and employment law issues faced by schools, as well as employment tribunal claims. She is committed to finding practical and tailored solutions for her clients and works collaboratively with them to achieve their desired outcomes. Olivia understands the nuances of the education sector and the implications of national agreements, as well as the regulatory framework.

Olivia joined the Schools HR team in November 2025 upon qualification, having trained at the firm. Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, Olivia completed seats in Education, Employment, Family/Private Client and Real Estate. Prior to this she was a paralegal in the Employment team at Mishcon de Reya, where she focused on advising corporate clients and claimants on general employment law issues. She also volunteered at the Independent Provider of Special Education Advice (IPSEA) the leading charity in the field of SEND law in England for nearly 4 years, providing legal advice to parents whose children had special educational needs.

Olivia has a genuine passion for working in the education sector and supporting our school clients with their employment law and HR needs.

Recent experience

  • Assisting with claims in the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeals Tribunal.
  • Dealing with a variety of employment law matters, such as grievances, disciplinaries, sickness absence management, capability, redundancy and TUPE.
  • Assisting with independent investigations.
  • Providing advice to legal retainer clients through our dedicated Schools HR and School Support Service helpdesks.
  • Day-to-day HR support.
  • Drafting and responding to data subject access requests, as well as breaches to the data protection regulations.
  • Drafting contracts of employments and workplace policies.
  • Supporting the Head of Schools HR with all manner of complex workplace disputes and employment tribunal litigation including cases involving criminal allegations and serious safeguarding breaches.
