About Matt

Matt provides advice on all aspects of planning law – including planning strategy, complex planning agreements, CIL and associated highways and infrastructure agreements, due diligence and planning appeals. He has experience acting for registered providers, public/private sector joint ventures and major housebuilders, particularly focused on large mixed-use regeneration sites.

Recent experience

  • Barking Riverside Limited – advising on all planning matters for one of London’s largest regeneration schemes (over 10,000 homes and 65,000 sqm of non-residential floorspace) of commercial floor space).
  • Advising the London Borough of Wandsworth on the regeneration of both the Alton Estate and the Winstanley York Road Estate, and planning advice for various sites in the Vauxhall Nine Elms Battersea Opportunity Area.
  • Assisting Peel (Land and Ports) Limited in relation to its Liverpool Waters development and the regeneration of 60 hectares of historic former docklands on the River Mersey to provide 9,000 homes, retail, leisure and commercial buildings, a new cruise liner terminal and the new Everton Football Stadium.
  • Advising Notting Hill Genesis on various planning matters associated with its regeneration of both the Grahame Park Estate and the Aylesbury Estate
  • Advising Harrow View LLP on the delivery of a masterplan site comprising circa 2,000 homes in Harrow, including optimisations, strategy, planning applications and planning agreements.
  • Advising Weston Homes PLC on all planning matters for its scheme in Redbridge to provide 1,280 residential units, with commercial and community use provision (including a replacement superstore), a 3-form entry primary school and public open space.
  • Advising Barratt London and TfL on the redevelopment of the Wembley Park Station car park to provide circa 450 homes and commercial space through to s77 call-in public inquiry in September 2021 (ultimately securing permission).
  • Advising St George PLC on its scheme for 500 homes and associated Morrison’s supermarket in the London Borough of Camden.
