Kate advises public sector institutions and private sector organisations on all aspects of landlord and tenant and commercial property matters, including clients such as Great Yarmouth Port Authority, Great Yarmouth Port Company Ltd and Network Rail.

Kate acts for landlords, tenants and freehold owners on development agreements and deals with commercial property aspects of business transfer transactions and all supporting contractual documentation and arrangements.  Kate has also acted in a variety of planning law matters (including the negotiation and implementation of section 106 Agreements) and environmental issues including contaminated land.

Recent Experience

• Acting for Great Yarmouth Port Authority on the property aspects of its transfer of its riverport estate, including drafting  leases (both as tenant and landlord), subleases, assignments and freehold transfers; advising on the structure of the property transactions; advising on and calculating Stamp Duty Land Tax obligations, and registering the unregistered approximately 40 parcels at Land Registry on completion
• Acting for Great Yarmouth Port Company Ltd in relating to its development of an Outer Harbour; the grant of leases and underleases; development agreements, commercial agreements, freehold acquisitions and all other ancillary property related matters
• Acting for a policing non departmental public body in its acquisition of a significant leasehold premises for use as its Central London head office, including issues of rights of light, major works and vires
• Acting for a several trusts which were incorporated for the purpose of providing leisure services in conjunction with local authorities across England; advising on, negotiating and completing leases and other property documents for the relevant leisure centres, swimming pools, golf courses, playing fields and other leisure facilities
