Jonathan advises corporates, fund managers, housing associations, HNWs and other clients on a wide range of tax matters, including property investment and development transactions, joint ventures, finance transactions and other M&A and corporate transactions. In addition to direct tax matters, Jonathan has particular expertise in VAT and stamp duty land tax matters, and regularly advises clients on the application of those taxes in complex scenarios.

  • Advising Benson Elliot Capital Management LLP, a real estate fund manager, on its sale to PineBridge Investments Holdings Europe Limited.*
  • Advising McCarthy Stone on its £300m sale of a portfolio of let retirement apartments.*
  • Advising Ashby Capital on its acquisition of the Guiseley retail park in Leeds.*
  • Advising PLATFORM_ on its joint venture with Northwood Investors to develop and operate BTR assets across the United Kingdom.*
  • Advising Nomura Real Estate Development on its acquisition of the property known as 127-133 Charing Cross Road from RDI REIT PLC.*
  • Advising an investment vehicle, backed by the founders, Inflexion and other shareholders, on the sale of Medivet to CVC Capital Partners.*
  • Advising social enterprise fund manager, Social and Sustainable Capital, on the structuring and fundraising of Social and Sustainable Housing Funds I and II.*
  • Advising the Peel Group on a regular basis on tax structuring and advisory work.*
