Alex is a solicitor in the Planning team.  Previously he trained at the firm and qualified in 2016.

Recent experience

• Assisting with an appeal against refusal of permission for the redevelopment of a former golf course to provide more than 550 new homes, a new sports hub and significant employment space
• Assisting with an appeal against refusal of a major new development in West Berkshire that would provide more than 500 new homes and a new school
• Advising a housebuilder client on the implications of a proposed CPO for a major development site falling within the boundaries of a Garden Village
• Advising on the CPO arrangements for a major outer London regeneration scheme for a housing association client
• Advising a developer on progression of a Development Consent Order affecting a major and strategically important East London housing site and successfully mitigating the impact on rapid and effective delivery of the site
• Negotiation of a complex multi-party s106 agreement for nearly 1,000 new homes in South West London
• Advising on the structuring of a novel private rented sector tenure for a major London RP
• Advising on the CIL implications of further applications in the context of development undertaken pursuant to office to residential permitted development rights
• Assisting with a judicial review relating to the application of CIL transitional provision
• Auditing a number of planning applications relating to the former Tesco residential development portfolio
• Advising on numerous enforcement matters, including POCA proceedings relating to enforcement
• Assisting with providing strategic advice to unlock major delivery of a major housing site in the boundary of a Development Consent Order
• Negotiation and preparation of bespoke Private Rented Sector/Build to Rent and Shared Living s106 agreements
