Speakers: David Emery, Ruo Wu,
The Procurement Act (the Act) is coming into force on 24 February 2025 and over time will be a dramatic reconfiguration in how public bodies procure goods, works and services.
The Act should be of keen interest to all charities and social enterprises, and particularly those with close relationships with the public sector: in the wider sector 30% of charitable income comes from government contracts and grants, a number that has remained flat for several years.
The Act and public procurement can be a daunting area, full of jargon and procedural requirements that can make hard to understand how charities will benefit from the more transparent and holistic approach that the Act sets out.
In this webinar David Emery, WS’s commercial team procurement leader, and Ruo Wu, senior associate in our charities and social enterprise team, will give you a high-level view of the Act and some of the key changes that charities need to know about.
Areas that will be covered include:
More importantly, we will be soliciting questions from attendees in advance, hoping to answer FAQs and have an extended break out session at the end for questions on the day. Do bring anything you “want to know”!
This webinar is aimed very much at the ‘procurement curious’ and will be a high level view of some key areas, avoiding legalese as far as possible. It is suitable for charitable entities and social enterprises both without much procurement experience and those with specialist commercial contracts/procurement teams but who might want to get a refresher on the Act.
