HR Hour Workshop: Managing sickness absence

This HR Hour Workshop will be an informal and interactive discussion using a detailed case study where practical advice will be provided. You will also have the opportunity to share relevant experiences and challenges with your peers and our employment lawyers.

Key questions we will be discussing include:

• What if a person is not really “sick”?
• Dealing with malingerers
• Can we dismiss someone who is not well enough to do the job?
• Is the request being made a “reasonable” adjustment?
• What if the problem arises from a disability?
• How to manage a stressed and anxious employee
