Richard specialises in real estate transactions with an emphasis on the retail and leisure sector. He has a broad range of experience in acquisitions and disposals, development projects, and lettings for a mix of institutional investors, corporate occupiers and retail and leisure clients.

Richard has a current focus on development work. Since 2012, he has acted for McDonald’s on the acquisition of freehold and leasehold sites for development as drive-thru restaurants.

Recent experience

• Advising Mothercare UK Limited on its £14.85m sale and lease-back of its 100,000 sq ft office HQ and adjacent warehouse located in Watford.
• Supporting LA Fitness on the property aspects of an asset sale (25 health clubs) to Sports Direct and later the
  corporate share sale of LA Fitness to PureGym Limited.
• Acting for McDonald’s on a sale and leaseback of a drive thru restaurant in Canary Wharf for a major residential development.
• Facilitating the relocation of McDonald’s European IT team to a new headquarters in Shoreditch.
