At this webinar, our Education team were joined by the Head of our Family Law team, Katie Spooner, to discuss common scenarios that schools are faced with involving parental disputes.
The discussion focussed on issues of parental responsibility, families involved in private court proceedings and disputes about care arrangements, providing both a family law perspective and guidance for schools.
The scenarios covered topics including:
- Parental rights of access to information regarding their child (whether for maintained, academies or independent schools).
- Parental consent requirements for school trips/activities.
- Contact arrangements, for example pick-up at the school gates, for children following parental separation.
- Providing evidence and witness statements during private children court proceedings.
