Timothy Goodwin is an Associate in the Winckworth Sherwood’s employment team.
Timothy has wide experience of different areas of employment law, including contentious, advisory and transactional. He has extensive experience in the Employment Tribunals, acting for both employers and employees in unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing claims. Timothy has also been involved in costs recovery work in the Employment Tribunals, recently securing an order for £9,000 of costs for a client.
Timothy regularly conducts employment-related litigation in the County and High Courts. Work includes enforcing restrictive covenants, breach of contract and confidentiality disputes. He has worked on a number of high profile cases in the Queen’s Bench and Chancery Divisions as well as the Technology and Commercial Courts.
In addition, Timothy advises on a range of non-contentious employment issues, such as contract drafting, holiday pay, managing employee departures, social media issues, post-termination restrictions and collective redundancies.
Timothy trained and practiced at a top 20 City firm before moving to Winckworth Sherwood in April 2015.
- Acting for a range of employers, including public sector contractors, airlines and IT firms, in various disputes including unfair dismissal, whistleblowing and discrimination.
- Acting on behalf of a number of individuals in a high value trade secrets claim in the High Court relating to hedge fund algorithms.
- Acting for a trade union in a high profile dispute with a former employee in respect of contractual breaches and accommodation and living allowances.
