Shane deals with property matters in the Education Department as well as assisting with the School Support Service. He advises schools on transactional work, including advising schools seeking to become academies on the land implications; schools undertaking capital projects and schools and academy trusts seeking to raise funds for capital works through the disposal of land surplus to requirement.

Recent Experience

  • Acted for a school on the disposal of former caretaker’s houses and school land surplus to requirement for residential development
  • Acted on the grant of a lease for a Further Education college pursuant to a Charity Commission approved charity scheme
  • Acted for a national charity on the grant of a lease for their new head office in Central London
  • Acted for a national charity in six sub-leases for children’s centres in Essex
  • Acted for a national charity when taking on fifteen new children’s centres in Hertfordshire
