Katie joined the Dispute Resolution team in 2007, specialising in commercial litigation. She acts for a range of clients in contractual disputes, professional negligence actions, intellectual property disputes, and company and shareholders’ disputes. Katie is also experienced in advising on both corporate and individual insolvency and directors’ duties, including claims involving delinquent directors.

Recent Experience

  • Acting for a religious organisation in an action for professional negligence against a building contractor
  • Acting for an education provider in a passing-off action against another education provider
  • Acting for an individual opposing an application under s.423 Insolvency Act (transactions defrauding creditors)
  • Obtaining emergency injunctions against persons known and unknown to prevent further harassment and defamation, and a planned large-scale protest
  • Acting for a non-profit organisation in the leisure industry in a dispute relating to a service contract
  • Defending committal proceedings following the conclusion of a shareholder dispute
  • Recovering funds misappropriated by a company director following the sale of property owned by the company, involving a worldwide freezing order and multi-jurisdictional asset tracing
  • Acting for an educational charity in the defence of a claim by a service provider to enforce an onerous contract
