Law firm Winckworth Sherwood has strengthened its expanding Social Housing Finance team with the appointment of Deborah Rowntree. Deborah joined the firm as a Senior Associate on 18 September from international law firm Osborne Clarke, where she was an Associate Director in its Banking team in Bristol.
She brings to the firm more than 10 years’ experience of advising borrowers and funders on real estate development and investment transactions, restructurings, complex syndicated lending and re-financings.
On joining the firm, Deborah said: “Winckworth Sherwood has one of the best reputations in the market for advising a large number of social housing providers and institutional lenders. I am looking forward to developing my career with the firm and to help it build its lender practice further.”
Deborah’s appointment follows in January 2017 the arrival of Partner Ruby Giblin from law firm Clifford Chance. Ruby has a 25-year track record of advising institutional lenders into the housing and social housing sector, having led on some of the largest and most complex deals of recent times.
Louise Leaver, Partner and Head of Social Housing Finance at Winckworth Sherwood, said: “Our specialist Social Housing Finance team is growing as the appetite and demand for complex financing arrangements grows. We are delighted by Deborah’s decision to join the firm and look forward to the contribution she will bring.”
